The Istron Bay is a family-run hotel that is run by people who really love what they are doing.
The family members who work in the hotel likewise regard their long-serving employees as members of the family as well. This means that everybody works with the same feeling of giving hospitality and taking responsibility.
The Istron Bay Hotel has a very personal atmosphere, so that its guests feel right at home and are glad to come back again and again. Our guests are made welcome with a presentation of fruit and wine in their rooms and are personally invited to a cocktail party by the hotel management.
We are especially proud of our many repeat guests who constantly come back to us because they have the feeling that they are coming home.

Our supervisors and organisers ensure that are younger guests have plenty of creative activities to keep them happy. Painting, model-making, playing on the playground and on the beach, videos, dancing in the Mini Disco, table tennis tournaments and tennis football are all offered.

During your stay at the Istron Bay Hotel you have the option to take part in all kinds of activities that are organised and supervised by our staff.
In addition to that we can also offer aerobic, stretching, water gymnastics, beach volleyball, waterball and dance courses.
Tennis
The tennis court is located in the midst of enormous palm trees and is thus shielded from the wind in a natural way. You even have the option to play tennis in the late evening under floodlights.
For all those who enjoy a more active holiday and water sports, the hotel's own beach has facilities for surfing, water-skiing, pedal boating and canoeing.
Our guests can also simply have fun on the water with banana boats and water rings and trips in a speedboat.
For guests who want some real piece and quiet, we offer fishing trips either out in the open sea or in Istron Bay. It is truly a special experience to be able to enjoy the fish that you had just caught expertly cooked in the Votsala beach taverna.

Golf
The best golf course in Crete is at Anopoli Hersonisou, less than 40 minutes from Istron Bay, and promises a top golfing experience.

Location

Istron Bay is located on the north-eastern coast of Crete, 13 km from the idyllic harbour town of Agios Nikolaos, 800 m from the village of Istro, 70 km by road from Heraklion airport, 22 km from Ierapetra, the southernmost town in Europe, and 60 km from Sitia at the eastern end of Crete, all of which are readily accessible by car and bus. (There is a bus stop within easy walking distance of the hotel).

Superior
Superior rooms with a view of the sea in the upper floors, balcony or terrace with sunshade and deckchairs for sunbathing, VIP welcome basket, individual air conditioning/heating, bath/WC, bath towels, hair dryer, telephone with direct line, minibar, satellite TV, radio, room safe, for 2 to 3 persons (convertible couch bed for the 3rd person).They are bigger and have a corner seat with sofa, plus a bathrobe service. Guests who have booked half-board can take their evening dinner in the "Meltemi" gourmet restaurant.

Junior Suites
Junior Garden suites, luxurious and in an especially quiet extra building, facing the sea with either a view of the sea or the garden . Last but by no means least, the Istron Bay Hotel is also a favourite of our guests due to its excellent cooking that runs the gamut of traditional Cretan and Mediterranean specialities.
The "Greek Academy of Taste " (Elliniki Akademia Geusis) that aims to revive traditional-style cooking in hotels and restaurants was founded in our hotel in 1997.
The healthy methods and ingredients of Cretan cooking are fully endorsed by us. Today we are also committed to bringing the traditional Greek cuisine up to date for modern times. We offer the "Cretan diet" as a half-board option, or a la carte in the restaurants of our hotel, each one having its very own special character.

Round out your vacation day in the best way possible directly by the sea in the Kochili Bar , or on the terrace of the Delfini Bar with a superb view towards Agios Nikolaos, with anything that you could possible want, from an elaborate cocktail to a glass of beer fresh from the barrel.
If you choose the Meltemi gourmet restaurant, you can sit directly by the sea and spend every day going on a culinary tour of discovery of the art of creative cooking. This restaurant offers menus as part of half-board, or a la carte, or the "Club Gastronomique" diner.
The main restaurant has two air-conditioned rooms and a terrace with a panoramic view. Here you can start you day with a hearty breakfast. In the evening you are offered Cretan hors d'oevres and salads, a choice between three main dishes and mouth-watering desserts - delicacies prepared from ingredients from the region and using the unsurpassed local "extra virgine" olive oil.
